Plus, you’ll be matched with a certified coach to supercharge your journey. Through personalized coaching, you’ll deepen self-awareness, tap into your strengths, and create a strategy to grow into the leader you’re meant to be.

to expect from 1:1 coaching

Two MAP coaching cohorts will launch in 2025. Choose the timeline that works best for you:

Cohort 1 kicks off June 12, Cohort 2 launches in December. Each cohort runs for six months of focused, supported, and personalized development. Tell us your preferred cohort—we’ll do our best to match you.

Complete your match profile to get set up on the platform. Estimated effort: 15 minutes

02 – Match Process

Within 24-48 hours after completing the match survey, you will receive 3 coach options. You will be able to see their operational background (their past companies & roles), areas of coaching expertise, and education. Estimated duration: 2-3 days

03 – Your Partnership

You have unlimited coaching for the next 6 months, make the most of it! Effort: 2 sessions per month

How involved will my manager be in my coaching experience?

Support, encouragement and accountability are incredibly important components in finding success through your development. With that said, as you engage in coaching, it may be very helpful to speak with your manager about your goals and aspirations for what you want to accomplish through the process. It’s up to you to share how much or how little you feel comfortable with – but please know they want to hear from you!

How often am I expected to meet with my coach?

All participants are required to meet with their coach at least once a month, although we highly recommend weekly or bi-weekly to get the most out of the experience. That said, you will have access to unlimited coaching – so you can have full control over your coaching schedule. Please note that participants who are not active for 2 months will forfeit their seat.

How will my coach be assigned?

Upon completing a coach match profile, Torch’s team will work to identify 3 best-fit coach options for you to review. Their coach pool is extremely diverse and qualified – all are accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF), they have on average 10+ years of coaching experience and speak over 17 languages. Torch has a 96% coachee satisfaction score.

I’m new to coaching. How does it work?

A coaching engagement is an individualized journey with a certified coach. It’s a time for participants to identify challenges and solutions through a facilitated and personalized learning experience.

I’ve previously worked with a coach – am I still eligible to participate?

Long story, short, yes! If you’ve previously worked with a coach outside of the Torch network, you can still participate. If you’ve previously been a Torch coachee, you can sign up again as long as it’s been at least six months since your last engagement. Please note that it’s unlikely you’ll be able to get matched with the same coach – but many of your colleagues have found a new coach, with new tips & tricks and a new perspective, valuable.

Tell me more about Torch’s confidentiality policies.

Let us put you at ease – the conversations and what’s shared between you and your coach, your 360 assessment, specific details about your Learning Goals, as well as feedback from your peers that you invite to assess your progress, will NOT be shared with Tripadvisor Group or Torch. Quantitative data from your 360 (such as general participant averages and trends) and the high-level domain of your Learning Goals (such as “Empathy”), are not confidential and may be seen by the Program Managers.

What are the program requirements?

Aside from agreeing to a meeting cadence with your coach and sticking to it, the only other requirement is completion of surveys sent by the Torch team. These 5-minute surveys provide our team with data that allows us to measure the impact of Torch coaching and identify ways to continually improve the program.

Can my spouse or family member participate in the coaching sessions?

Our program is intended for employees only.

Am I able to switch coaches if my first coach is not a good fit for me?

Yes. You can reach out to [email protected] with a request to switch coaches.

How does coaching help me navigate emerging technologies like AI?

Our coaching helps you find the right balance between technical possibilities and human insight. You’ll develop the confidence to guide your team through change, ensure technology enhances rather than replaces human judgment, and keep people at the center of transformation. Building essential leadership capacities helps prepare data leaders to navigate AI-driven transformations.
